Hardcore hockey fans, especially the ones living in Philadelphia, will recognize the hosts of this podcast. Derek “Nasty” Settlemyre has worked in professional hockey for over 25 years. This includes 13 years as the Head Equipment Manager of the Philadelphia Flyers. Nasty has worked over 2,000 professional hockey games, and he is full of stories from every level of professional hockey.
Nasty is joined on the podcast by one of the toughest enforcers Philadelphia has ever known, Riley Cote. Riley played eight years of professional hockey, including four years in the NHL with the Philadelphia Flyers. (Did we mention Riley scored a goal on the legendary Carey Price? An impressive feat for an enforcer, even if it was Price’s rookie year.) He also won a Calder Cup with the AHL affiliate of the Flyers, the Philadelphia Phantoms.
In true enforcer fashion, Riley led the Phantoms in penalty minutes during their Calder Cup-winning season in 2005. When he is not hosting a hockey podcast with Nasty, Riley works as a creative entrepreneur on a variety of projects from real-estate to mindfulness coaching and loves spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Nasty and Riley met in Philadelphia while they were both working with the Phantoms. They won a Calder Cup together in the AHL, struck an immediate friendship, worked together with the Flyers, and now they have reunited on Nasty Knuckles to bring you insider insight into the latest NHL news and share stories with some of the game’s biggest names.
